On August 28th 2026, Eric Silverman releases Raw Honey via Royal Oakie Records–a reimagining of his sophomore album Bitter Honey that was rebuilt alongside co-producer Damien Lewis through alternate versions and a new tracklisting that turns the record inside out. Whereas Bitter Honey was expansive by design–sweeping strings, horns, layered vocals, and dense overdubs–Raw Honey strips the adornment away to put the focus on the songs. "When we were starting to record some of the overdubs for Bitter Honey–the strings, the horns–we found ourselves realizing how much the overdubs had come to shape the sound of the album, but also how the songs could stand on their own," Silverman says. 

Inspired by The Beatles' Let It Be...Naked, much of the work was subtractive–identifying what could be removed from each song so other elements could come forward, simplifying the listening experience without losing the emotional core of the songs. Meanwhile, some tracks were rebuilt from the ground up—"Bitter Honey," the title track, gets a lo-fi, stripped-down treatment with percussion provided by Silverman's own voice run through a slammed console, a distinct approach than the version on Bitter Honey. "Trapped in Reverse" goes further still, reconstructed with new instrumentation into an entirely different track, its new palette exposing depths the original arrangement had never quite revealed.

For Silverman, that process of rediscovery is the point. "It's always fun to rework your songs and learn something new or find something hidden inside them that you never really found before, and this was a great exercise in that," he says. Raw Honey isn't a footnote to Bitter Honey, it's a companion piece, built to sit alongside the original and complete the picture. Taken together, the two albums trace the full arc of the project: one reaches for scale and density, while the other pulls back to let the songs breathe. "I think Raw Honey is a perfect companion to Bitter Honey," Silverman says, "and together, they really communicate the themes and the energy of the whole project."
